About Balheary Skatepark

Balheary Skatepark in Swords is a solid spot for skaters of all levels, with a friendly vibe and plenty of features to keep you rolling. The bowl is a highlight, offering a fun flow for carving and tricks. A variety of ramps cater to both beginners and more experienced skaters, making it a versatile spot.

The park is spacious but still has a cozy, community feel. It’s not typically overcrowded, and the locals are known for being polite and supportive. That said, watch out for scooter kids and younger children wandering into the action, as the park doubles as a playground for some families. Safety gear is a good idea—especially since part of the concrete is smooth, while other sections are rougher and less forgiving on falls.

One downside is the lack of nearby parking. You might have to park on Watery Lane, which can be tricky, especially with kids in tow. Evening sessions are also cut short by the absence of lighting, so plan accordingly.

Beyond skating, there’s an outdoor basketball court and a scenic walk by the estuary, making it a great hangout spot. If you’re in Swords, Balheary Skatepark is definitely worth checking out!
